Looking at a 2002 Silverado 1500HD Crew Cab

Just thought I would ask a group of experts about it. I am new to the forums but have heard good things about this place from friends.
My question is simple, has anyone heard any good/bad things about this particular model year? The truck I am looking at has 55k miles and appears clean and well taken care of. I am buying it from a dealer for $23,500. Used the search and can't find anything specific on this model.
If any of you have any service bulletin links or any information regarding this truck it would be appreciated.
It has the 6000 series V8 and towing package, 4X4, short box, and thats about all I know at this point.
Thanks

Apparently it is the perfect truck!

Thanks.!!!
I did the Carfax thing and spent my $20 to find out absolutely nothing!
I guess I will wait and see what happens.

Re: Looking at a 2002 Silverado 1500HD Crew Cab

Best thing to do is just drive the truck and have a trusted mechanic to check it out for ya.

The Vortec 6.0 has tons of power, but really likes gas, lol. My uncle had one in a 2500HD, I think it was an 02 model. It sure wasn't hurting for power but you couldn't pass a gas station up with it!

I just bought a 2002 4door 2500HD, and just like chevytrucks92 said you will not pass a gas station. It takes $50.00 to fill it up with the gas prices right now, but you could not ask for a stronger truck.
