Question Rpm Question....weird

first of all, thanks to LandoAWD. It was the ECU that i needed to change to get the car started. thanks buddy.

Now,...just a quick reflexion...i don't know if this is a problem or if it's like that normally. As i've said before i have the Eagle talon DL 93. I got the alternator rebuilt, had a full tune-up and finally i got a new ECU which ultimately fixed the car. Now, the question comes when i start the car (specially early in cold mornings) the car turns on normally and the niddle of the rpm goes to about 1500 but then drops to like 500 or 400 or sometimes so low that the car sometimes seems to want to stop, and it does sometimes.

If i try then again and press the gas for a couple of seconds right after i turn on the engine the niddle drops down to 1000 and stays there with no more problems. so do i have to do that everytime it's cold is there something i can do to eliminate that completely? thanks.

p.s. My rpm was at 800 originally on idle, after getting those problems in the mornings quite often, a friend boosted the rpm on idle to 1000 so it does it less now but it still does it sometimes when it's really cold.

2nd p.s. The niddle has gone up and down for a few seconde from 1200 to 800 back and forth during the day too. very few times.

suggestions.???

Same here sir!

I just purchased my 90 Eclipse Gs this past sunday. I have noticed this problem as well. When I start mine it will go to about 1500 rpm and stay there. If i try to move the car before it heats up, I start to get an Idle surge from about 1500 to 2000 rpm. This stops after the engine warms up... about 3 mins or less. I was at first angered by this since it isn't a carb motor.

I did some searching and I seem to have find the answer to this. This isn't the site that I found it on the first time, but I don't have the first right now since I found the answer at work and now I am at home... but here you go...

http://orl.dsmforum.com/showthread.p...=hybrid&t=4737

Now at least for the 1G the cleaning seems simple. Remove the battery and some plug wires ( i believe.. its at work ) and take Carb cleaner to the TB to get all of the carbon off of it.

This should take care of the problem, or so I am told. I will be trying it Wensday. If you happen to do this before hand and it works let me know. And if it works hopefully I helped... it would nice to be the helping hand for once instead of the needy.
