1996 Keyless entry

I have looked at some of the other keyless entry threads but still cannot figure out how to get my remote programmed to my blazer. Can anyone help me with detailed instructions on what to do.

If it's like my 95, here's how I did mine:
On the driver's side, under the dash there is a panel that is removed with 4 screws, Attached to this panel is the keyless remote console. There should be 2 plugs plugged in to this console (they are on the side facing the firewall). Attached to one of these plugs is a red wire with a plug attached. Get another wire and short out the plug (basically, there are 2 metal tabs - get a wire to touch both tabs together). When you touch both tabs, the electric door will lock (or unlock). Now with plug shorted out, press any button on your remote. Remove the wire you used to short the plug and you are finished. Good luck

Re: 1996 Keyless entry

Who knows, he stated that he used it on his 1995.

Only way is to try, but I wouldn't though.

Get the dealer to program it for cheap. That way you don't blow something electrical because your lack of knowing how to do it properly.

If you don't know, DON'T GO!
