Red face Stock CRX si 's sure are hard to find

Well, quite afew people have recommended an 88 crx si to me since I want to get into STS2 and/or CSP and later maybe sm2 in soloII so I am currently looking for an 88crx and I have noticed that there are almost no stock si's in anywhere. Almost all have had an engine swapwhich sucks becuase 1)An engine swap of any sort automaticly bumps me up to SM2 in SCCA soloII and 2) Most are asking way more then I can afford .
(also kind of odd though, you would think the HF's would be abit more popular for swaps since they are cheaper to come by, preaty much NEED a swap if you to zoom zoom and most importantly(for me atleast) are lighter)
So anyway, just how rare are stock/fairly stock 88 CRX si's these days? And how much would a clean(not mint) go for? Is $1200 not enough for an 88 rex?

Stock crx si's aren't the most flooded car on the market but they're out there. There is a few down here but most have been swapped too. The best thing to do is to wait till a grandma or grandpa decide to give up there's. They are usually the best, both being taken car of and running well. Then you can go mod happy.

Everyone in Arizona ask way too much for any crx. 88 crx si is the best cause there suspension is similar to the integra type r. I would love to get me the '88 even though i like the looks on the 90-91 crx si better.

Yep, 90-91 crx Si's are the bomb and they come with rear disk brakes. The 88-89 didn't. I personally would get it cause of the round guage cluster alone. They just look newer.

I would get the 88 crx si and convert the looks into the new crx and convert the rear brake discs. They're harder to find though.

I would do the same too. Is the suspension the same on 89 si's too? I forgot.

a buddy of mine has a '91 crx si and he's thinking about letting it go. it's pretty much bone stock. he's not sure if he'll sell it or not, but he probably would if offered the right price. it's in pretty good shape too, for what it is.

Re: Stock CRX si 's sure are hard to find

there's an either 88 or 89 red crx si for sale about two miles down the road from my house. its completely stock with a near mint interior and well taken care of exterior. i would love to get it but the bad thing is that its for sale for 3,200. its rediculous.

You gotta use a hammer and a plunge to get it out.
