Question ticking noise

i have a 1991 stealth tt and i did that free boost mod to the wastegate control solenoid vavle, and its making a weird ticking noise it has done this before i did this this to it but not as often on and off now it seems to do if more often not as much as i rev the engine up i cant tell if tha noise goes away or if i can just hear it i undid tha solenoid by unclipping the wires on the bottom and the noise stopped and i hooked it back and it started it doesnt seem to do it on start up only when the engine warms up...if u have any ideas what it could be please reply..i think i just might have to get a new wastgate solenoid...have any idea where i can buy this part????? thanks

Re: ticking noise

It very well might just be lifter tick...a very common occurance in our cars, do a search on this forum for lifter tick to get a better understanding of it. I don't know why it would be altered by fooling with the wastegate solenoid though...when was the last time you changed your oil...try that and see if it persists.
If it is lifter tick...don't worry, it isn't bad, just annoying.

Re: ticking noise

Yea the mobile 1 reduced my tick a lot although it wasn't too bad to begin with.

Re: ticking noise

You know, I don't hear the tick that you guys always talk about. Wait actually, I did once or twice but that was it. Good thing right? :o/

Re: ticking noise

I've never had lifter tick, but it is quite common. Mobil 1 synthetic is great, I use 10w30. Redline is amazing as well for lifter tick. Let us know what happens after you change the oil.
