Question Idle Control?

Where is the idle adjust on a 1990 Civic LX? I look underhood and see something that looks like a cap with a spring underneath and a depressed hole in the middle of the cap. But there is not screw persay where I can fit a phillips' or flathead screwdriver to adjust the idle. Any ideas? or a pic perhaps?

Re: Idle Control?

its under that black ugly box on top of your throttle body,
it is near that spring,
if you cant see the screw, you probably have a cap over it,its a black small cap, pull it off & you'll see a gold screw!

Re: Idle Control?

you shouldn't need to adjust idle. If the idle isnt proper, you probably have a vaccum leak, your timing is off, or the engine has some other problem. the only reason you should need to ever adjust idle is if somebody already adjusted it improperly. there is a screw on the throttle body.
