hood-latch question
a while back i rear-ended another car, got my repairs done and i've had this quirk ever since i got it back. at about 70+ the left side of the hood catches a little wind and raises up about 1/2". The faster i go the more it lifts. i've adjusted the two vertical adjustment knobs on either side of where the hood meets the chassis and it makes some difference but not completely. isn't the latch (just in front of the radiator) somewhat adjustable? i've been told that it is and i would like to lower it about a 1/4" and see what that does. but looking at it very closely i could not tell that there was any ajustment. any thoughts? thx in advance
btw - keeping it under 70 ain't the fix

Perhaps the adjustment is in the bolt holes? Loosen the latch and see if it slides down a touch. Also are the rubber isolators on the hood just above the headlights in place? If there not there, that may be whats causing the excessive wind to get up under your hood.
And I agree with you, keeping it under 70 ain't a fix! Might bring it back to the body shop and let them know whats going on as well. |
