engine fire restore

Hey everyone im new to this thread and site. Looks great from what i can see and good advice. Im planning on restoring a beetle with an engine fire the car is in excellent shape besides that. What should i look for and how will i need to restore the engine another engine is also included the 1200cc original engine. My plan is to take out the 1500cc that had the engine fire and replace it with the 1200cc. What will i need to rewire the engine and everythiing else? The interior and wiring is fine just in the engine compartment....any advice would be great!

thanks

Re: engine fire restore

The two engines are wired the same, was it converted to 12V? Just make sure you keep track of what wire goes where, as they will probably have to be replaced back to the firewall.
