factory echo mods

hey.

sorry if this has been posted in the past but i did a search and found nothing.

im thinking about getting a 05 echo hatchback RS. i cant find any info on the factory cold air intake, trd suspension kit, or performance exhaust. does anyone have any specs on these parts?

What kinda info you looking for? I have the AEM CAI, Borla exhaust, and the Eibach lowering springs. I wouldn't believe it adds a huge amount of horsepower. Stock the echo makes 108 bhp so with these mods i'm thinking it'll probably be around 113-115 bhp. The springs dramatically increase the handling of the car, although the stock tires suck. The TRD suspension kit and aftermarket rims with nice sticky tires will be like driving a whole different vehicle. The CAI/exhaust make the car sound awesome and it looks sweet in my opinion. I have gotten numerous compliments on the dual-outlet center exhaust and the sound of it.

well that is basically the information that im looking for. what added performance (hp) there is from those parts. my main concern was the exhaust because its a 900$ item. so if all it does is sound good i dont know if its worth while. have you noticed with the exhaust and cai, whether your gas mileage has been hurt much? that was the other question i had about those two parts.
that suspension kit sounds pretty good though. i will be leasing the car so i wont be buying any aftermarket rims and tires which kinda sucks.
but the cai and springs sound pretty good so far. do you have an RS?

Yes, I have Black RS. The exhaust also adds probably 3-4 bhp. Not a huge difference, but everything adds up. You could definetly find a better exhaust system, but not without voiding your warranty. Gas mileage is unaffected directly by these mods; however, indirectly I drive harder because I like the sounds, and that will lead to lower gas mileage.

Factory intakes.... AEM actually makes the factory intakes for the Scion XA, that same intake will fit the ECHO. Another one is Injen Short Ram Intake for the Scion XA.
