Toyota Sports Cars

Okay as we all know the Celica and MR2-spyder dies out as of 05, so what is toyota left with (as in US market)
mazda-RX8
nissan-350z
mitsubishi-Evolution
subaru-WRX STi
honda- S2000
and there are many others....and what is toyota left with? a matrix..not even a car....a corolla xrs....i dont even want to start

as you have noticed toyota has no competition in performance sport cars any more..........what happened to MR2 turbo.....and the Supra turbo??.......im very dissapointed.

Never heard about a F/R lexus celica. There is talk of a new supra way in the future. For now you have the IS300, SC430 and i guess you can kinda count the new tC, but the tC makes me think of a nice sporty econo camry. Anyways, if you've ever been to the japanese toyota site they have a shit load of cars they seem to be going for profit these days, they find that they can make more money on other cars then the celica/supra/MR-S. Just go visit their japanese site, you'll see what I'm talking about. As big as they are I wish they would just cater to us and give us back a real sports car.

Re: Toyota Sports Cars

Don't worry Toyota will not let other car comanies have any market share they already have. The sport cars you see in Japan are here to, a little toned down I'll admit. However over here they are labeled as Lexus. The IS is powered by the one and the same JZ that once drove the Supra. The IS is the same car as the supra, with only two major differences between the two. One the IS has a longer wheel base and two the T top of the supra is switched for a hard top.

As for the celica, well the XRS is covering it. It has the same motor and with plans to have the AWD from the Matrix swapped to the Corolla who will need the all too slow celica.

Re: Toyota Sports Cars

Also keep in mind that Lexis does not exist in Japan. All the cars are labeled as Toyota
