Re: turbo or supercharge

turbo for a number of reasons...

heard some bad and good things about the JR Superchargers. However, you can only get so much boost and it isnt as tuneable as a turbo

turbos sound cooler

they're more readily available

for the pricetag of a supercharger, you can get a high-end turbo kit with all the extras

turbos are more efficient by using exhaust instead of crank power (so i've heard, but i dunno bout the numbers n all that so dont quote me lol)

superchargers have no lag like a turbo does (hit gas and takes a sec to get boos), but if you get a smaller turbine then u'll reduce turbo lag to almost 0. There'll be some but not noticeable.

you can upgrade certain pieces of the turbo kit (ie. intercooler, turbine, etc), whereas you can't really upgrade a supercharger

i believe turbo is easier to fix problems and tune, whereas a supercharger - if it breaks, might as well get a new one (i think i dunno, guessing but it sounds correct)

if you don't wanna go turbo, than go n/a. if you wanna set it and forget it, than get a supercharger, but its gonna cost ya in the end

Re: turbo or supercharge

I heard there are some problems with some turbos though, like that something goes wrong like once a month. Like a wastegate wont open, or a blow off valve wont blow off, and other things like that, or is just because of cheap parts? This is one reason I dont know if i want turbo or n/a.

Re: turbo or supercharge

usually cheap parts. some probs come from not properly putting on the oil line to the turbo, etc. I think if you get a decent kit installed correctly it should last you a whilez
