Golf '88 modifications: Help needed

Yo! I have an '88 Golf and i need to do alot of modifications. I want to change the engine and put a VR6 engine but somethin tells me that it aint as easy as it sounds. I need to know all the things i need to change in the car apart from the engine. Please guys help me out here, would really appreciate it.
