96 Taurus Speedometer inop

Car was jumped and wires got crossed causing the speedometer to be inoperative. Can someone recommend a fix, other than a new driver, or point to a good reference to solve this issue? Thanks Dan

blown fuse, the fusebox its in is located on the right side of the drivers footwell. I believe the fuse is labelled Radio on the cover diagram.

does your radio work. If it works then it's not the fuse. Try checking the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). It is one of the three sensors that determines if your airbags will deploy in a front end collision.
