b18b questions

hello i just got a 98 ls b18b1 it has 66k miles on it... i was curious if its worth it to go all motor on a ls engine if so what is the best way to go in order to get the most horsepower out of the ls and if anyone can tell me what is the most they have seen on a all motor set up for a b18b1 LS MOTOR

Re: b18b questions

Well its really hard since the motor is not made for high revving and the head flow is not as good as the vtec head. The only way i can see you achieve the 200 whp range is get a vtec head and build it right. The most i've seen was 204whp and it wasn't easy and more expensive.

Re: b18b questions

To be honest...its really hard to say. I would probaby guess 170 whp? Don't quote me on that.I'm sure you'll get lots of torque though.

Re: b18b questions

with those mods your looking at around $3500 for 40whp
for that price you could slap on a gerret t3/t4 t57 turbo w/12psi boost on stock internals and have 250whp
or the fast cheap route is get a b16tranny and 55shot nitrous (170+whp)

And pray that you'll get 200 whp out a b16. Its really hard and i only know ONE that had ever achieved that goal. It was in some magazine. I forgot what its called. I'll find out.

Re: b18b questions

high revs and high compression should be able to get b16 over 200whp. there are some 4ag's making around 240hp(at crank?) at around like 11000rpms; 4ag's are 1.6l.
