98 accord lx V6 transmission

ok all i have this question that NO ONE has been able to answer for me.........i have a 98 accord lx v6 with 113,000 miles on it (yes i know its alot but im 19 this is my first car) now when the car is freshly warmed up it is perfectly fine, but once im driving around for 20 minutes if i put the car into reverse it is fine....once i put it into D4 from REVERSE i feel 1 small jerk (which is quite normal) and 3 seconds later, I FEEL A 2ND JERK which is harder than the 1st jerk...... now what the hell is that ?? i thought it was a transmission problem, i took the car to my warranty they SUPPOSEDLY rebuilt my transmission and its still the same.....i have taken my car to aamco transmissions and they say my car is fine......and 2 of my main mechanics say "that is how honda is" please anyone out there with a 98 accord sedan V6 tell me if your car jerks 2 times when u put it into drive from either reverse or park after a good amount of time driving......any responses is greatly appreciated everyone tells me to leave the car as is there is no problem.....what are your suggestions or comments.......

My daughters 98 V-6 seems to be "jerky", and she just had a Honda certified rebuilt tranny installed. I think it must be the converter and it doesn't seem to be a problem, so unless it gets a lot worse I wouldn't worry about it. I will say that after owning an Acura TL/S (also on its second tranny) it does not appear that the Japanese have this automatic transmission thing down quite right.

98 honda v6 transmission

I have a 98 honda accord v6 with 103k mile on it and suspected problems with the transmission since 93k miles. The transmission slips at 20, 30, and 40 mph. I call the honda corp in Ca and told them my honda accord ex v6 transmission was having problem and they told me to take it to a honda dealer to check it before I can make a claim on it. The honda dealer looked at it said I need a new transmission and there will be a $90 fee.The dealer and I call the HONDA CORP to put in a claim and he explain that I have completed all recommended maintenance schedule and a day later the HONDA CORP call the dealer and denied to assist in any way with my claim. I did not even receive a phone call back from the HONDA CORP. The dealer called me to tell me the news and they give me a transmission for over $4200. I call the HONDA CORP and spoke with KEVIN BROWN and he said can not do anything to help and sorry you case it closed. How is my case closed only after one day of evaluation. Kevin Brown also said that the HONDA CORP has assisted other people with 98 v6 accords with more miles than I have, but the said thoses cases were different. How are other cases so different when I have taken good care of my car. After reading other website and forums, I can see this is a more common problem then I thought and now I have read over 100 complaints with honda accord v6 98 and 99s transmissions on the site. Some action need to taken NOW!!!!!!!!!

On the 6th gen Accords (98-02) the V6 tranny is deffective. Honda warrantys them for up to 100K miles. If you're a little over you'll have to discuss that with a Honda dealer. Just check any og these forums and you'll find this to be true

This is not true. Honda only covers 00-02 accords and not 98-99. I am current speaking with Honda and have sent a list of complaints on transmission to them and the customer service rep will not return any of my phone call. Well I have contacted the BBB, FTC, and the state attorney general.

Well, from my experience, I've spoken to people who has a 98 or 99 V6 model and their trans was replaced under warranty. As long as the car was purchased as a Certified Preowned Honda it has a 7 year 100K mile warranty that covers the trans and motor

I believe you would have to check with your dealer on that. I purchased my 2K Accord preowned (in 02) I only had 24K miles so I still had the basic factory warranty. But when that warranty expired my extended took effect. Like I said, I spoke to people who has a 98-98 model and their trans was done at no charge. Speak with service manager at a Honda dealership and start bitching and they'll probably do it also.

Yeah, I just checked that and that does suck. The only other thing I can suggest is try a different dealer or check to see what a private repair shop would charge to rebuilt the tranny

My problem is ongoing. I will post results after the Better Business Bureau investigation
