problems after mod...
Alright, I just got done with the throttle body bypass and installing a 160 degree thermostat. the first time I tried to start it after that it took about ten tries before it would start, kinda like it was flooded? So I took it out for a little spin and once it's warm it's not doing it. Also, now it has a little higher idle,aroung 1200-1300rpm. Think I did something wrong?

for the idle there is a screw that you can ajust on the TB just do it wile it running and youll have no prob.

I think he's talking about the speed idle screw on carbs. If it's FI it wont have that, but I heard a problem with some people that do the bypass that their IAC gets fluid or something in it...don't remember exactly, but anyways yeah, I think the only screw type thing you can adjust RPM's with is the speed idle screw on the passenger side of the carb just below the throttle body valve's, but if you don't have a carb then nevermind that.

there is a screw to adjust your idle speed, but it's usually hidden behind a factory pressed in cap. you have to remove that first, but you can not just start adjusting the idle screw. there is a procedure you have to go through to re-program the idle speed in the ecm.

I think it had to of been flooded. I went out this morning and it started right up so everything is alright. But just so i can check, where is the optispark located?

What car are you talking about??? I know that the TPI cars dont like 160 degree tstats too much because the computer doesnt always recognize that the engine is warmed up and it doesnt run well.

If its still idling igh, get a 180degree t-stat
160tstat is probably the cause of your higher idle

It's a 97 trans am LT1...sorry bout that. I have another ? I heard some where that the stock LT1 intake manifold was set up for a 52mm tb but the stock tb was 48mm? I used the gasket to see and they were both the same size. so I either have a 52mm tb or the guy was full of shit.
