1, 2, or 3rd gen???

Ok, i'm in love with all of these cars and would wish to race all eclipses at one moment on one road and see who would win... Ruling out the turbo models who do you think would win a race, bone stock... Out of a 1st gen eclipse, 2nd gen eclipse, and a 3rd gen eclipse, who do you think would win... Lets say GS-wise...

Please dont start "who would win" threads. if their isnt something in the forum rules about this there should be.

if you want to know how fast the cars are look up the stock 1/4 mile times on the net. these threads are pointless. their are to many variables to account for in a "real" race situation. so i suggest hitting up
www.google.com.

Re: 1, 2, or 3rd gen???

Setup a race, tell us who won, better yet, video tape it. Personally the 3rd or 1st gen NT would prolly win, 2nd gen is heavier then first w/ a chrysler engine (NT models)

For the turbo cars, i think the first gen is bit faster (stock to stock)

Re: 1, 2, or 3rd gen???

yeah. what fun would a race be without all the c0ol turbo noises? Theres nothing more boring than watching 4-banger NAs in a race. Lol. Like watching paint dry.

Re: 1, 2, or 3rd gen???

I ran a 3-way with a 3rd gen eclipse and a 1st gen 1.8L all with intake/exhaust. I also had intake/exhaust. The 3rd gen was the 4banger version, not the v6. The 3rd gen pulled on both of us trhough first gear, but halfway through second I pulled on the 3rd gen and the 1.8L had no chance again either of us. I won by about 1-2 cars.

Maybe that will help?

EDIT>>> I forgot to mention this was back when I had my 97 RS.
