Clear corners & paint
Hey i just recently bought a 98 Integ RS. I was lookin into gettin some clear corners. Where can i get some clear corners and what is a good price to pay for them?
Also i dunno if it is just my paint but i've seen a lot of integras with bad paint jobs. Im lookin into gettin a paint job, gettin it repainted black. Im on a low budget so i saw some Macco ad and Marshalls Auto Paint. does anyone know if these places do a good job ? I kno u get what u pay for but if i lasts for a decent amount of time then thats good. |

Re: Clear corners & paint
clear corners are easy to find, search yahoo or google. Some Kragen, Auto zone stores and even walmarts stores sell clear corners now.
Cheap paint jobs mean cheap quality. They peel and flake off easy and get over spray on moldings and stuff. If you don't mind those, go ahead. |

Re: Clear corners & paint
i decided im prolly gonna go with clear corners from ebay.
Also, if im gonna get a paint job, what color do u think is the best. I have black right now and i like it except that it gets really dirty and gets a lot of water spots. |

Dark colored cars are harder to maintain. Flaws show up easy like water spots, scratches, swirls and color fade. However they have better reflection and shine, and gloss. You can see your own reflection, if you are vain like that. They look more exotic. Good if you like washing and waxing your ride often. Carnuaba wax is recommended, they deepen the color and gives a nice 3D gloss.
Lighter colors such as white and silver are easier. But bird and tree sap can stain the color with yellow spots, therefore it's best to remove them immediatly. The gloss is barely noticable, only from certain angels. From a certain distance, they look cleaner vs. a darker car with the same amount of dust. Scatches and swirls are less noticable. Synthetic wax is recommended, they are optically clear and show the true color and offer longer protection so the white paint will stay white and not look "yellow-white." Flashy colors attract cops, theives, and best of all, hot chicks. |

Re: Clear corners & paint
do NOT go to macco and i do not know about marshalls macco does not even do a full step by step process to painting they pretty much just spray paint over the original paint i would go to has many car places taht does paint jobs get estimates and samples check out their other work on cars and see how you like them and also if i were you i would try to stick with the same color unless you have mad $$$ to get your door jambs trunk jambs paint parts individually if u stick with ur same color ur door jambs and etc will not be different colors

check my sig for my pic of clear corners...it's on a 97 though. well i recently got my whole car painted for $330. Looks AMAZING. a friend hooked me up with his painter so i got a deal. car is sooooo shiny. it was cheap cuz it was just straight paint: no body work or anything. the pic below is before i got the car painted. (i had to paint it cuz a chic hit me. i only needed to get the fender and the bumper painted but decided to get the whole car painted). but the car looks even more shiny with the new paint job than the pic in my signal

thanks for the compliments guys. that is a vis-racing c-west replica front end, top fuel replica sides and a stalker rear lip. i have a k20a2 right now and it will be going in in juts a few weeks. the paint color is bmw m3 black. i got my paint job cheap from my friend. even cheap paint jobs can look good but you just have to check out the painter and see the kind of work he does because it is more of an art, not every painter is the same. look around before you paint your car. good luck
