'99 Jetta interior lighting Issue

1999 Jetta

My '99 Jetta has a small problem, my interior lights will not come on when the driver door is opened. The lights come on when all other doors are open. Does anyone know where the light switch is that is activated when the door is open....Would like any help

Well, its either on the door near the hinge, or on the frame near the seat belt, in between the two left hand side doors. Hopefully that will help you.

I belive the switch is on the latch mechanism inside the door.

I recently had the same problem, I had to replace the door lock module! kind of a pain, but I know how too do it now! The micro switch seems to go bad, I hear its common! If your locking mech. is acting up also, I would say thats the problem! Check it out!
