converse auto V6 into manual?

i posted this thread already but in a wrong forum, this should be a right one
Anyway, I have an 4 doors accord 1999 V6 3.0 L, I want to converse it into a Manual stick car. Is it possible or a crazy idea, i look on ebay but they only have manual transmission for the 2.4 L 4 cylinders engine, mine is a 6 cylinders. I'd love to drive a manual than a auto, please if you have any useful infomation, let me know, thanks you.
Also i heard something about a conversion kit, do you know anyplace selling that?

Re: converse auto V6 into manual?

While it can be done, it is expensive and time consuming, as there are numerous detailed differences between the manual and auto trans cars. It is cheaper and easier to sell your car and buy a car with a manual trans.

Also next time use the search feature. This question is asked at least once or twice a month it seems.

Re: converse auto V6 into manual?

the only manual trans that bolts up to that engine is from the Acura TL type S, unfortunately, it isn't built to mount into an accord and would require lots of custom modification.

i think because your car is a 99 it would be a lot harder to switch from auto to manual becaus it is so new there is alot more electronics involved isnt there?

i have always wanted to do this to my car is there anyone here that has ever pulled it off succesfuly???

it's easier to just sell your 99 accord and buy the new 03 accord ex v6 6-speed! It's too bad they didn't have the 6-speed v6 until 03 and 04.

Re: converse auto V6 into manual?

^^can be done...if there was a V-6 manual...but it would be cheaper to just buy a new car...its a pain to mound the clutch pedal, run the lines, change the flywheel, etc...
