Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

Okay fells i need some help...The Greddy Evo 2 3inch exhaust for gst is 550 shipped...Should i buy this or what? OR

Apexi N1 3 inch exhaust system 465 shipped?

I know there is probably no difference performance wise, but the reason i would like to get the evo2 is because its stainless steel. Please let me know fast becuase as soon as i buy this ill probably be deleting this thread seeing how it doesnt really contribut to the forum. Thanks a lot once again in advance. I appreciate it!

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

yes it does contribute. it's a simple question and it may save some noobs

the main differences are sound and CARB leagality.

the GReddy is quieter, more rumbly, and comes with a CARB leagal exemption.

APEX'i is louder all around and more of a crisper sound.

both flow equal and will have the same performance carachteristics...

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

So what do you mean about the apexi is NOT carb leagal? Is it for of off road use? Also, the apexi isnt stainless steel so will it corrode?

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

I have a greddy exhaust and i'm on my way to put a new downpipe cause I bend mine in the accident, but i think that the downpipe is the only thing you can change without cutting nothing, check my video and you will see a full greddy exhaust (my video is just at the bottom of my sig)

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

i'm not too sure about the SP series, or why you would be lookng at them. EVO's are just better looking

a cat-back exhaust is just that. so anything forward you can do whatever you want. i have a 3'' EVO with an APEX'i cat eliminator DP. RRE makes the best DP for the cost, in cat-elim or with the space to put a cat or a test-pipe.

GReddy is CARB legal because they spent the $$ to get certified. while there is a big debate as to the acctuall acceptance of the certs by cops [as documented in a bunch of the tuner mags, some cops say it's good, others are very against anything other that OEM].

technicaly the N1 is off road use only. regardless, most laws say that anything other than stock, or deviating from the stock noise level can be ticketed, and is up to the discretion of the officer. there is an associated law that says you cannot be over 95db. but because the first basicaly leaves it up to the cop, and they don't have to carry around sound meters... you get the picture.

i really like the sound of the EVO over the N1 though, personaly. the N1 is just a bit too ricey for my taste. but when i buy the new EVO 8 MR next year it's gunna be a GReddy Racing Titanium

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

yes it is hard, and the difference is really small, but the greddy is noticably deeper in tone.

they should bolt right up. but you should have a test pipe up in there

best exhaust for a turbo is no exhaust at all...

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

sweet man thanks Vince! I talked to the guy today, and he said, " I believe the N1 for the 2wd models are 70mm piping which is about 2.8 inches.
The AWD models are 80mm.

I'll have someone double check and try to get back to you today.

www.turboimport.com"

So is 2.8 okay for a later turbo upgrade...i mean i was shooting to get 3" exhaust.

Oh by the way send me some of your mixes man.

Re: Greddy or Apexi exhaust?

you should just buy a muffler and get a shop to mandrel bend you a exhaust. much cheaper then a premade and it will work the same. the exhaust will rust eventually even if its stainless. the stock exhaust lasts 10 years or so before it leaks so stainless or non-stainless shouldnt be a major deciding factor.
