Some of the G-roo's may have a better method, but I've had good luck with cotton swabs & a spray can of electrical contact cleaner. Just be really careful/gentle around the actual p/up wire(s).
G/luck Joel

Re: MAF sensor
I have used Radio Shack's "Precision Electronics Cleaner"(#64-4345). Various alcohols, naptha, acetate propelled by CO2. They claim it doesn't leave residue. Seems to work OK, .. but then I haven't used it that often.

Just to stay on the safe side I personally would not touch the wires with a cotton swab or anything else. A good dousing of electric contact cleaner should clean them without rubbing.

B-12
B-12 Carb cleaner.
Did my MAF and saved the day. Make sure you unplug the batter and let dry before starting. Remember a MAf sensor is a heater. The more air passes over the coils the cooler the wires will be so the MAF applies more volts which mean high air flow. More air flow more gas. |
