Unhappy power trouble with my alpine.... PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm having some power issues with my radio. I have an after market alpine in a 98 Saturn SL. The problem is, when I'm driving, the radio will loose power almost completely. The memory isn't reset or anything, but all power is lost (power button won't turn it back on when it happens). I live in baltimore, and if anyone is familiar with the roads here, and I use the term "roads" loosely, they would know about the constant pot holes and violent shaking of the car thereby produced. I have a feeling that one of the wires or something came loose in the back or shorted out. I know little to nothing about car radio wiring so if anyone out there can give me some advice about this, I would greatly appreciate it.
