Complete Random power loss
Here's the issue and it has occured multiple times. I was driving down the road going 70 mph and the car lost all power suddenly. Its not the alternator, as the battery light didn't come on, it wasn't a gradual power loss, and I eventually got the car started again with full power. When I say complete power loss, I mean I even lost my programmed radio stations.
I know this sounds strange, but to "fix" the problem while I was on the road, I hit the battery and pulled on the electrical cables from the battery. My only thoughts are the cables are bad or somthing is wrong with the fuses. If anyone has had this problem, please let me know what it was for you. Thank you. |

Re: Complete Random power loss
Check the grounds on your vehicle. It sounds like you are losing ground completely and therefore losing all power. It could be in the positive wire too but I would check the grounds first as they are usually easier to trace and often are the cause of problems like you describe.
