coolant light
my sensor light came on (red box with red arrow pointing down)........... so i flushed the coolant till all that was seen was clear water then using coolant flush it was soapy looking so i ran that till all was clear,,,,,then drained radiator,,and added coolant,,,the light remains on? and coolant level is right,car runs fine,,
how do i turn off sensor light,,? any idea's? 2000 intrigue,,,,,,,1.5 engine, auto,,116,ooo miles,no manual came with car,seems to be way of these cars and i went to napa,advanced auto ,pep boys and others,,and they don't carry it,,and don't even show it in there books to order..no chilton or haynes has 2000 intrigue.. thanks |

the coolent light sensor is like a float if it does not turn off with a full system then the level switch is defective and must be replaced.

How much does one of those sensors cost. i have found very little info on the problem.
and i have the 3.8 i havent tried doing the reset like you would do with the change oil soon light. |

Try gmpartsdirect.com. I replaced one in my old '98 a couple of years ago and I believe I paid $60 for that thing - from a dealer. It seemed to work for a while but now it is back to its old tricks. What can I say? GM!!
