old school supra?
I drove a camarow this past weekend. I really liked the muscle car feel but I am verry parshal to imports. the old school supra seem to fit the bill and they are affordable for a college student like me. I live in Virginia Beach how much am I looking to pay for a 5 speed 1985-90? how do they drive as far as power and controll?

Re: old school supra?
The mkIII was produced from 86.5-92, 86.5-88 being the first release, 89-92 changed the trim a bit. I think i read somewhere the 86.5 is N/A only.
I think the 87/88T has 235 crank hp from factory, I don't know if 89-92 improved on it at all. The car feels a little on the heavy side for the amount of HP you start with, but the power is easily increased. When it comes to handling I'd have to give an A- simply because to me its almost perfect for the driving I like. Awesome curb weight. If you start to slide the ass end while cornering, its likely to come around on you..[because the rear is a little too light] but as long as you can feel the fine line between spining out and gripping the shit out of the road your Assuming you want it turbo, 87T and 88T can run you anywhere from $1000-3500, but for $3500 it would have to be in nice cond. 89-92 I've seen go for 5K+ but were in close to garaged condition.. look for them at around 3k in fair cond. |
