replacement keyless remotes for 98' Blazer

I am looking into purchasing a replacement remote on ebay. I have the other remote, which won't program anymore and I am assuming it is broken. I read somewhere that the FCC ID had to be the same and that the part number had to be labeled: GM/UTA. Does the part number following GM/UTA have to be the same also?
Mine is GM/UTA 25678792.
While on ebay I saw many with the same FCC ID and GM/UTA, but a different part number. Would one of those work?
Thanks.

I'm also looking for a replacement, however I though in buying a generic one... those that copy the frequency from the original one..but I heard a gossip that these "generic" ones does not work well since the original remote change the signal frequently, so trying to mantain a copy of a varying signal may be impossible....is that true?

The orginial one are very expensive over here (Venezuela) like 300$ so that's why i'm thinking in a "generic one" 30$

thanks

Not sure about any of that. But I know from my checking on ebay you can get them from ranges of $4 to $15 bucks, mostly used, some not. That's alot cheaper than what your quoting.

You just have to match the FCC ID. I just picked up a second one from keyless ride. Its a used one but works fine. You'll have to reprogram both the old and new remote when you get it. If you pick one up from ebay it won't have the instructions for reprograming (unless your getting it from a company).
