Hot running engine
Hello all,
I just purchased a 1994 viper with 18K miles yesterday. I notice in the city it runs hot; right around 210-225. Is this normal??? It cools down to 190 or so on the freeway. Thanks, Steve |

Re: Hot running engine
First thing is are you running a license plate? If so take it off I have seen 2 come in that were overheating for that reason only. Then after that see if anything might be in front of the radiator. Ill ask at work in the morning if it should be around those numbers..

No front plate and all debris is clear. I notice that as soon as the temp goes close to the orange line it immediately backs off to 195-200 degrees. The fan is doing a good job, but I just worry. The radiator will be flushed out this weekend and a new thermostate might be installed.

Re: Hot running engine
that's normal temp for vipers..... don't get worried unless it runs over 240......
