Ahhhh, I just wanted to say I get a rash of emails from people asking me to get them a Skyline because I live in Japan. Yes, I have a Skyline, but over here in Japan, mine is legal just the way it is. Well, most of you can't afford one, so before you ask check out Motorex's pricing. I always have someone email me and say, "I only have $10,000.00 do you think you could get me a Skyline??" The answer is NO, not if you only have Ten Grand. Just cause you watched 2Fast2GAY to many times, doesn't mean you can get a Skyline. Here is a conversion list right off Motorex's website. http://www.motorex.net/_motorex/n_im...e/pricecon.jpg
You will see just Conversion alone is $16,000-25,000 and to get one already converted is $18,000-95,000...this is only on average.....I am not Motorex but as they can convert them, direct your questions to them..so before you watch 2Fast2GAY again and want to get a Skyline, look into the FACTS, Because dreams are just that..........DREAMS.

Re: Think you can afford a Skyline?? THINK AGAIN.
Those prices are kind of public knowledge jmrev...
Most of those people saying "Im getting a Skyline" (In America at least) are kids who, like you have said, have watched 2Fast2Queer2Manytimes... People used to IM me... They used to go something like this: RandomRicerDouche: Yo, herd u no bout skylines Samhain: Yea... What do you want? RandomRicerDouche: i gots lik 5gran can i get a skytline Samhain: No RandomRicerDouche: lol fuk u idit u no nothin bout skyline then i saw one on ebay for 5grnd lol n im buyin it! lol lol Samhain: Go ahead... Its fun to just LET someone screw themselves into the ground ![]() Bottom line... Your average bear, CANT afford a Skyline. I cant... 90% of the people on this forum cant... So why worry about it. Someday I will have a Skyine... When the 25 year rule kicks in. But until then: Love Live The Zed! -Wes

Re: Think you can afford a Skyline?? THINK AGAIN.
I like Skylines, but not enough to deal with rhd(I'm on the tollway a lot), maintenance issues(ex: waiting for parts), probably needing a second car because of that, having a car that is at least two years old(If I got an R34, but I'd prefer an R32), and not really having a warranty. But I really do like them.
If I had the money to burn, I'd probably go for one.

Maybe when this thread gets updated you WILL be able to own and drive one legally:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=254422 It CAN be done...just not by everyone who wants one, but then....if everyone HAD one would it be as cool?

i would slap the **** out of the kid that said that he is going to buy one for 5g serious they have to stop watching 2f2f, and if everyone had a skyline, well then i guess they would be boring, at least thats my opinion.

Re: Think you can afford a Skyline?? THINK AGAIN.
"boring" is a little strong, but they would lose some novelty.
They CAN be had for much cheaper than many think. $5000.00 is a little low though.

Yeah, if you were in Japan (Like I am) you could get an R33 GTR for about $10,000.00-14,000.00 and then you have to add the $17,000.00 conversion to bring it to America. So you're looking at $27,000-$31,000 for the car. For a 1995 model car that is a little pricey(in my opinion). I know, I have an R33. I have been looking into every possible aspect to bring it back, but so far nothing but Motorex works. I really hope somebody comes up with a far easier way to get them to the states. That would be GREAT!
My biggest fear is that I'd bring one back, and it would get seized at the port.

These are the times when I'm actually glad I live in New Zealand. Skylines are aboundant here, and outside of Japan we have the highest concintration of them.
R32 GTR's are going for between 9-13k USD and the GTS-t and GTS4's are under 4k USD! I'm just biding my time before I make the shift back to the states. Once it becomes a classic or a viable legalizer opens shop I'll ship it back and move.

Yeah....but do you know what's funny......Half of the people that chat on these forums either don't know about Motorex or RB, think importing a car is as easy as buying it on EBAY or watched 2fast2gay and want a Skyline.........

Re: Think you can afford a Skyline?? THINK AGAIN.
the thing that gets me the most fired up is that Motorex charges 24k for a 94' GTS that is 0-60 like in eight seconds or even more....sure they have to do the conversion...but come on isnt that to much money for a dated 32?

Re: Think you can afford a Skyline?? THINK AGAIN.
Kinda off-topic here... and I'm sure someone else has thought of this already... but let's say I move to Canada for some time (where the 15 year import rule aplies) and buy an R32 there.... live there for about a year or two then move back to the US with the car. Is this legal? Or do you still have to get it up to EPA/DOT code? Just a thought...
