01 X5 won't start

It was fine earlier. No lights or warnings. Ran fine. Battery seems strong. Interior lights do not dim when key is turned. It acts like the ignition is broken. It just suddenly will not even click or turn over?????????
It is in park. The key turns all the way. What gives?

I would have your starter and your celanoid (cilanoid?) (not sure that I spelled that correctly) switch checked. Have the ignition checked.

Re: 01 X5 won't start

By any chance, did you start the car and then shut it off quickly, as to just move it a few feet? If that is the case, then I know why the car will not start.

Please see this thread.

When I used BMW Assist, they said that this was a common problem with all BMWs. I drive my 2004 X5 4.4, not the X3, on a regular basis and have never had this problem.

Post with any other questions.

Hope this helps,
Joe
