please help me

Hey guys, my name is daniel peterson and i am 15 years old, all of my life i have lived in the city (cleveland, DC, Pittsburge, ect) and now i have setteled down in louisville kentucky where i have lots of land. I have never road/own a dirt bike before but hav always been interested. Now i am looking to buy one and i would like someone to tell me what a good bike is (cost does not matter that much). Some of the things that i am interested in doing on my bike would be rideing trails, transportation, raceing, maby some jumps, and just haven fun, i dono really. Please someone help me out, I would really appreciate it.

just goto a dealer and get a new bike since your new i would recomend a 250f any brand will be fine but yamaha has the better bike this year honda and the kawasaki so just go and check them out

Okay, we may be getting ahead of ourselves.
If you have never ridden before, you should start out on a mild little trail bike, to learn on. Chances are you will be ready for a bigger bike after a few months, so buy a used bike. If you shop around, chances are you can sell the beginner bike for what you paid for it.
I would suggest a 4 stroke dirt bike. 200 cc or less. Aviod the 2 stroke motorcross bikes; they are more difficult to learn on.

Once you have some experience, you can move up to a bigger, better and newer bike and not risk killing yourself.

Hey man. I have a brother there close to Louisville. He bought a new XR650L and a CRF50 recently too. He might be able to get you a line on a cool salesman (we always rode Hondas since we were younger).

when i was 15 i wanted a 250 but if i were him i would try and start out on 250f they are the easyest to ride and have lots of power for when he gets used to it and selling bike to buy new ones is a big haslle trust me ive been thru it plenty of time but i would still say get a 250f

yes a 250f or a 125two i staterted on a 02 rm125 so far only been riding a few times but i love it

go with a newer xr 200, they are easy to ride and fun. great beginner bike. than after a few months get the 500

once you build up enough muscle to handle the bike you wont be sorry, until then buy life insurance

I had a CR450 when they came out in '81. Some friends had a YZ490 and a CR480. Really brutal bkes.
You have to be a real man to ride an open 2-stroke aggressively.
You could get thrown on your @$$ really fast.

If money is not a big deal look at the Honda CRF250X... It is a 4-stroke (easy power), it is MX capable with a few mods (only slightly different from the CRF250R), It is woods capable (it is the R ser up for woods), it is fast, and you won't quickly outgrow it.

This advice is all assuming you are a typical American adult male... 5'6"-5'10", 145-180 lbs, reasonbly aggresive riding desires, want to ride both MX and CC....
