Starnge Tick

Theres a strange ticking sound come from the left front of my engine when i stand in front of and face my car. its in the region of the belts and coolant overflow tank. and ideas what this could be? its seems to have an effect on my idle. im hoping its nohing too major or expensive. thankx

How old is the car... Milage?? did it just start or is it something that has been getting worse over time.

Biggest thing I'd check first would be the Spark plug wires... If one has gone bad it could be shorting to the block or somewhere (that'd make a nice Tick) and also affect your idle as one cylinder wouldn't be firing. Has your check engine light come on at all?

Re: Starnge Tick

My car is a '92 with a 135K miles. i dont think its been going on for a very long time but know its been doin it for it least a month. im pretty sure my plugs n wires are good b/c i just got they all professionaly replaced back in march. unless they were put in wrong or if any of them are shot already. how could i tell and if i replace one do i have to replace all?
