Changing the tire size might screw up the computer on my '98 S-10?
Hello, I am posting to hopefully find out if switching tire sizes is going to screw up the computer on my '98 S-10. I was told that going from the current 205-75-15 tires to any 14" would but how about staying in the 15" size, but going to 235-75-15. These actually come off of a '91 Blazer I believe. Think the Rims from a '91 Blazer will fit properly on my '98 S-10 and if they do, will the slightly bigger tires cause problems with the computer in the S-10?
Okay, any input is greatly appreciated. ChrisinNH |

You can go into the truck's computer and change the tire diameter.
Go here to figure the differences between the two: http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html |

I guess it's not so much the speedo that I am concerned with but the ABS system and the lights on the dashboard coming on because of a malfunction because the tire size has changed. Assuming that this size tire will fit fine without rubbing. And hopefully the Blazer Rims will fit fine as well. That's the real concern though is that the rims fit right and that the computer doesn't wig out and the ABS stop working properly...the speedo can be off a bit, that won't bother me much.

No, it won't do anything like that.
But it will screw up your Speedo measurement and your odometer. |
