4 to 5 lug conversion..

i went to this junk yard place and the guy have bunch of hubs just laying around there, he gave me a pair of a 300zx and said they will work, and the front ones he gave me were off rear off a sentra or some front wheel drive car and said that will work, so i took them home but those sentra ones dont fit inside the rotors.. so im all what the crap?! i go back he gets me another set that fits, but it looks different and would make my front wheels wider, so it seems to have a different offset. I dont trust these guys because they dont seem to know smack about 240s

the question i have is, if anyone know where i can get some info on this so i will know which hubs will work and fit and off what cars? 240s are hard to find as it is and i dont know if the older 300zx will work for the front, or what others will.
