Unhappy help me please.

its been a long and hard day for me. I just got back from the garage where my car is after my accident and well......the chassis is hit and has been pushed back into the car. Basically the car cannot be fixed. My engine and tranny are okay though, i only have 76000kms on the engine so i don't want to just throw the car away for scrap. I know its a long post but please help me if you can.

So i have 3 options:
1. sell the car for almost nothing as scrap, and save up for a shit box or

2. take out the engine, tranny, other parts and flawless interior and put it into another car. My choices are a 4th gen which will cost as much as the repairs if i were to fix the chassis, but at least i have a car with a good chassis that way OR i put in the engine and stuff into a 3rd gen camaro because finding a shell would be so much cheaper. Whats needed if the engine and stuff go into a 3rd gen camaro????? I need to know how much work so that i can estimate how much it'll cost to install.

3. get a shell shipped from the U.S. in which case, how much would a 4th gen Z28complete shell minus engine and tranny and interior be sold for?
much appreciate the help everyone.

Re: help me please.

go to Camaroz28.com , LS1tech.com and in there wanted section ask about finding a 4th gen shell... I know I've seen people selling some there... SLP also sometimes sells 4th gen shells... If you really want to keep the car, sell everything that you will not need from it and save the rest for the swap...
Good luck!!!

i've been told that the dash from a 4 gen will fit into a 3rd gen, along with the seats but i'm not sure about interior panels. if you want to transplant your engine and tranny into a 3rd gen just pull the entire engine and dash harness along with the pcm and transplant it. if your using the 4th gen dash and steering column, everything should just plug right back in.

i dont know how your insurance works, but you may have to buy your car back from the insurance company. when my sister wrecked her Sebring the insurance company gave her $8000 for the car which was the estimated value for that year of vehicle. then i asked if i could have it for parts or to fix up, and the insurance company said i'd have to put in a bid for it.

Re: help me please.

I would shop around for a fourth gen, as close to your baby as possible. Essensially what you have is a doner car now. So you can look into buying a V6 fourth gen, with a torn up interior, blowing smoke, but a solid body and suspension, then swap out all the torn up neglected parts from the sixer, and put in the V8 and interior from your car. then scrap all the rest thats left over. or better yet, contact www.Fbodymotorsports.com and see if they want it. that way all the leftover useable parts get put into a organized location where camaro enthusiests can still use them, rather than sending it to the junkyard to get scrapped. Seeing as you already have the V8 doner car, the cost of doing this work would not be very high. but it would be very time consuming. but worth it in th end, as wed have one more V8 on the road, and one less V6 (sorry sixer guys )

Re: help me please.

I have no insurance. no insurance company in this country would insure the camaro for less than $3000. so alas i'm in trouble and out a lot of money.

Re: help me please.

i'm 22 and i've never had an accident. BUT!!! I live in the Emirates not in the U.S. and that $3000 for insurance was the 8th company i went to which offered it to me. all the others flat out refused to insure in the first place.

Re: help me please.

i had 3rd party insurance, which means they fix the other car or damage i do to others but not to myself or my car. I found a donor car here tonite by the way. Its a 1995 Z28 in good condition, purplish red color which the guy will sell to me with everything except the engine, tranny and gearbox for $1600. PLus this way i can still sell parts from my wrecked car for some extra cash. I also found a 1996 but I'll know on thursday what my options with that car are.
