valve cover gasket set question.
ok, got oil on the spark plugs so i'm replacing the spkplug tube gaskets, but the kit came with these other rings the same size but round instead of flat. not talking about the bolt washers. just 4 little rubber rings the size of the spkplug tube gaskets, where do these go?

Re: valve cover gasket set question.
Those probably are for the base of the tubes. Don't ask me how to get the tubes off to replace them though? Oh yes, I couldn't get the grommets on the valve cover bolts either.

Re: valve cover gasket set question.
The reason you get oil in the spark plug tubes are leaking gaskets. The ones that attach to the valve cover are the flat ones and they usually fix the problem but not always. There are also gaskets under the cam caps that can leak and the fix is to use the other gaskets you talked about. If you decide to replace the lower gaskets make sure the engine is cold and after replacing adjust the valves.
