2000 Durango Infinity wiring diagram?
Hello:
I have 2000 Dodge Durango with a factory infinity (CD & cassette) head unit. I recently replaced the head unit with an after market head unit (Alpine) with a beefy internal amp. I am tryin to find information about the stock infinity amp and wiring info. Not sure if I shoudl bypass the amp and use the Alpine internal amp or not. Anyone that know where I can get a wiring diagram for the 2000 Durango Infinity system, please let me know. Thanks, Mn3 |

Re: 2000 Durango Infinity wiring diagram?
I'd probably just Google "2000 Durango Infinity Wiring" and see what comes up. I also have a 2000 SLT, and I'm looking for replacement front (low end) speakers. Did you go with aftermarket speakers as well? On the amp issue, I would recommend going with a branded amp to match up with your new head unit. Rockford, Alpine, PPI, they're all much superior to the OEM Infinity amp. While it's not a bad amp, the performance you will realize from an aftermarket model will be far greater. Good luck.

If you would like to part with your factory speakers, I could be interested. I really only need the low-end front 6.5" speakers, but if you don't want to break up the system, let me know and decide on a price. FYI, I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.

If you have the infinity system with the 2 tweeters on door, you can get an almost exact match from Walmart ($10 i think). They are just dual cone - not coax.

That is the system I have, and I am going to go with aftermarket drivers. Dodge wants $78 EACH for the factory replacements, so a 6.5" bass-mid driver would work ok. I just want to try to match up the crossover point as close as possible to keep the system relatively matched. Thanks for the idea.
