all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

15.7 seconds....

that seems pretty slow for a 2L turbo AWD car...

Any ideas why its so slow?

Im getting one in November and i thawt they would run a faster 1/4 than that. at least in the 14's.

Re: all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

well you figure its only running 5lbs of boost...you get the turning 12 or so psi. new aftermarket clutch...maybe some better tires...just that stuff alone will probably get you into almost the low 14's

Re: all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

I would say because it lacks torque and you have to launch at a higher rpm which will rape the little stock clutch in no time.

yea seriously, the all-trac isn't a dragster it's a rally inspired car, It's meant to take corners and dift like a mofo. I wish toyota never got out of WRC, it's the reason they stoped the GT4s.

So wot your saying is that its mainly the stock parts that are stopping it from getting a good time?

my car has a blitz exhaust and a Blitz dual SBC boost controller.

this the car i bought.

http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/0124/

im just wondering the potential of the car. I just want to know if its worth doing it up or will it still be comparitively slow.

Re: all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

no it will be fast...question for yea...have you checked it out with customs yet because if your getting that car from japan there is a whole lot of shit to change...dash instruments. windshield. bumper supports. door supports...couple other things too...cost alot...reason why they dont import silvias and skylines...to expensive...just to get a free skyline to the US and have it driveable is around $25,000...just wondering if the GT4 is diffrent...if not then you might want to check that out

Re: all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

It's a very heavy car, about 3300 lbs. Get a better clutch, new performance tires/brakes, and crank up the boost, and you should be able to hit 14's.

I live in Australia

To buy the car, ship it over, pay all taxes, pay customs duty, get compliance and get it onroad will only end up costing about $7000AUS

so about $4970US on road.

im just wondering how much effort that will taketo get it into the 13s. im aiming to get wot ever car i end up keeping to run a 12 sec pass eventually even if its a high 12.

or if im better off selling it and getting an MR2 or something.

Re: all trac (GT4) 1/4 mile times

well actually thats pretty easy with a 3sgte motor with the AWD plateform...rebuild the motor with some new pistons (i.e. JE pistons) and new head gasket (has to be metal), ARP head studs, turbo upgrade, boost controller, possibly reprogrammed ecu (dont know if they make them put im sure they do) aftermarket turbo manifold, aftermarket intake, light-weigh flywheel...perf. clutch. short shifter, some 15 or 16" Volk TE37 wheels would help too very light weigh, nice sticky tires...that should just about get you into the 12's there...even though thats like 7 g's in mods there...lol happy tuning
