timing jump..??

Ok recently i been tryin to make my eclipse run for the past 2 months so heres the story... i went through 4 different ECU and now the 5th one i got i installed it.. now it cranks the same but what it does now i hear my timing jumped... so yout think the whole time it was my timing that was causing my car not to turn over? we never heard the timing jump untill we installed the 5th ECU. =\ i hope thats the problem.

Re: timing jump..??

You made no mention of what kind of car this is, but I'll assume its a 90-99 turbo. NT4g63s are probably the saem in thsi regard. NT 2G? youre on your own.

Put the crank pulley timing mark at the TDC or zero mark or whatever the hell they labeled it on the timing belt cover. With the uppper tbelt cover off make sure the timing marks are aligned with the dowel pins at 12 oclock. It really is that simple. For a quick check anyway
