Tranmission Problems
My 1991 chevy silverado has a 351, and the tranmission just stop working. It showed no signs of slipping, it had no problems. Could
it just be the linkage, give me an idea. |

Re: Tranmission Problems
is it engaging at all....this has the 350/700r4 combo right? that's what mine has. anyways, crawl under the drivers side of the truck on the side of the trans you will find the linkage, make sure it is all intact. Chevk the fluid, and also make sure that the lever in the linkage is connected at the pivot that changes the direction of the linkage. Let me know if you need pics or anything to help you look at the linkage.

Re: Tranmission Problems
Yes, the transmission is a 700R4 it doesn't engage at all. The linkage does looked hooked up but pics would help to make sure its right. The fluid checks and looks fine. When I get a chance I'm going to drop the pan and see what I can see.

I agree too, I had a torque converter spin the weld right off inside the unit (you would never know by the outside that it's broke) the spline goes into a implellar of some sort that's inside the outer housing. Mine was on a IROQ Z28 with a R4700, which is pretty much like a hyro 350 but with a overdrive and TCC.
