Hiya, just joined :)

I have a little 99' sunfire, I started doing stuff to it over the summer, I'm hoping to get a picture up lol.

Hm question - Do you think rims are important or should I just keep my focus on performance...my dad is trying to get me to buy REALLY expensive rims when I'm more interested in my engines performance lol.

Rims play a huge roll on your looks of your car. So many people look at my 97' sunfire and all i have is a set of 16 american eagle rims on it. they werent too expensive either. american eagle makes some great wheels for sunfires and they are not overpriced. i would say throw some 16's on or 17's. you will love the attention and the handling it better with it being a lower profile and wider tire. Trust me i know my dad owns a tire shop

Re: Hiya, just joined :)

you can get a set of relatively inexpensive aftermarket wheels/tires that will improve traction and cornering abilities, as well as look nicer than the stock wheels. But forget the "fast and the furious" look and make it perform better, not look like a go-kart on steroids.

I agree, more go less show.
Rims are nice, but spanking a car that is " faster" than yours is better.

What do you think I should do next then, performance wise?

I have the full exhaust, bought it off rksport, I bought the motor mounts, I have a ram air hood on it, and my dad put a k&n filter on it so thats funtional, I put a little keystone spoiler on it for looks hehe and a costom paint job. I really want to get a body kit but since I have it painted wouldn't make since to now...

On of my friends said I should get a engine control module...What do ya'll think?

Re: Hiya, just joined :)

I haven't heard many great things about the engine module.
Why not get a turbo ect..
give some SRT-4's a run for their money.

Re: Hiya, just joined :)

Yeah neither have I...
Nah I can't turbo it, I just put on the FULL exhaust, so that would be a waste of 400bucks from the headers lol.

I would supercharge it but I don't work/get paid enough to do that. Lol I'm only 16 so I'm still and school and only work 20ish hours a week and get paid 6.50 haha. Has to be stuff under 1500 basically :P.

I kind of want to get a new tranny so I can change it to manual, I hate that its an automatic, Know any websites that sell it all? Like performance clutch and fly wheel...I havn't beenable to find anything useful with the websites I know bah!

I dunno, any ideas of little things I could do? They don't have to do that much but any mod is better then none :P
