Question knocking noise when turning

I'm having a new problem with my lude, and I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem. When I parked today I had turned the wheel so my wheels would be straight, and I heard a grinding/knocking/crunching noise. I thought maybe the wheels were perched on a rock or something, so I backed up and tried again, and it still made the same noise. From the wheels being straight, turning the wheel one quarter of a turn either way makes this noise. Any insight and help is appreciated.

Re: knocking noise when turning

my lude does the same thing, and i just bought new tie rods and cv boots. If those don't do the trick, i'll just gonna go with buying new driveshafts (cv joints) but when i install the new rods and boots, ill let you know if that was the case. the way you describe the noise, sounds exactly like mine, so.....
