Steering Column

My 91 S10 Blazer has a lot of vertical play in the steering column. You can set the adjustment but the wheel still move up almost an inch. So I believe I have problme in the column. The steering is fine. Does anyone have a diagram of what is in this column before I take it apart. I would like to know what I am in for before I get started.

Thanks for any help

Re: Steering Column

that happened to our 91 full size chevy pickup...and well...what i would do if it was you...just take it apart...carefully...and just figure out how it goes together...lol...although that isn't probably what you wanted (but i don't remember what we fixed in the steering column to remedy that problem)

Re: Steering Column

Sounds like your tilt bushings are worn or loose. Been a while, (a year or so) since I had one apart, but as the previous fellow told you, carefully take the column apart and see where the play is at.

Re: Steering Column

Have you ever tried looking in something like a Chilton's book...Your public library would probably have one if you don't
