Turbo Question

I know a near by shop that said that they could put a greddy turbo kit. I think it was originaly order for a honda prelude. the guy couldn't pay it so they have it in their showcase. they told me that they could fit it in my car. if i decided to get a turbo kit, could i get just a turbo from Greddy or HKS or any brand and get custom piping and would it make more power than jonny bloods turbo kit. if any one has a suggestion or comment please drop a line or two.

Re: Turbo Question

greddy usually ships an 18g turbo w/ most of their kits, at least it is for the integra GSR, Civic SI, and its part of the upgrade kit for the mits. eclipse 1g and 2g the 18g doesn'thave any advantages over a 20g and a 20g will push more boost so i'd try to get a 20g instead

You will still have to tune this, or u can kiss your engine goodbye

Re: Turbo Question

It would not make more power safely. Our kits are deisgned to work with the stock engine. And our kits have gone thru the R&D to ensure that they will fit the car properly

You would need a custom downpipe, intercooler end tanks, intercooler piping, fuel system, fuel management, etc. And I don't know if the H22 turbo manifold will fit a 4G64. I would think about it being off due to smaller exhaust ports and different bolt pattern.

Re: Turbo Question

i think im changing my mind about the whole supercharger vs. turbo deal. lately, ive been reading about alot of problems with the RIPP kit and now they have stopped answering the phone, email, and pms of the customers who are having problems with their kits. i am putting more thought into getting johnnys turbo kit

Re: Turbo Question

18g is a decent size, and is more practical w/ the lag than a 20g or larger, but yes it won't put out mad power gains, it will give respectable gains and numbers the Big 16g does well for itself and i believe they are roughly the same size
