Re: wheel bearing???

Well lets start for beginner... the 205 are the wrong size tire for you car...you want 225/45-17...so yah they are more expensive but they won't throw your speedometer and odometer off... in some states a tire size like that is consider mileage fraud if you go to sell the car... and please spare us from sayin you have no money for them... great neither do alot of people.... save up for whats right...now onto your Question... Were you sure to replace the seal and clean out the spindle?.. If you put the seal on, did you face the flange of the seal facing away and grease it all?.. Did you re install the 3 bolts to factory specs?... other wise its a defective product... make sure they gave you the right part...

Re: wheel bearing???

did you check for movement in the steering linkage. You could have a bad tie rod. IF the movement is up and down (hands at 12-6 o'clock on the tire) it could be a ball joint. If the movement is right-left (hands at 3-9 o'clock on the tire), it's either a steering component or another bad hub. I know cheap hubs are problematic, but I doubt that the new one has the same 1/2" play that the old one did.

Re: wheel bearing???

i checked it out again & it seems to be in the steering, the hole spindle & tierod moves (just side to side) so ithink the hub is good. so ill look alittle further into the steering. as for the tires, ihav 205 40 because i like the way they look on my ride, no one said anything about not being able to afford another size,& also i give a shit about a 4-5 mph differance in my speedo,.

Um....you do or don't give a shit?.... the orange above..

heh... did you get an alignment afterwards?

dang dude... there should be a little play in the tie rod... it has to for when your car goes over bumps and what not..it need to opperate in differnt positions. But if the whole assembly moves... it shouldn't.. the 3 bolts should hold the darn thing right in place....let me give you a link and go to the site and t shows you how to do a wheel bearing change... maybe you missed a step...

http://bradiscool.com

go to the link on the side where it says garage and click the first post... should say wheel bearing..
