Re: CD player CD Changer question
I have exactly the same situation. I too just bought a '98 Mk VIII with no remote CD changer although it has the installed JBL radio for one, and would apprecite an advice as to installing the changer.

Re: CD player CD Changer question
one of two things have happened.
either the original radio was replaced with another one somewhere along the lines, and the car never came with a CD changer or the trunk mounted CD changer has been removed. If the car came with a CD changer, you need to check the driver's side rear corner of the trunk. Lift up the carpet and look for the harness. The ON/OFF buttons on these radios are a commonly failing part(they wont turn off the radio when depressed) so many past owners replaced them since all 1995-1998 stereos are a direct plug and play. However, if your car never came with a CD changer in the trunk, then the CD option on your head unit is useless. |
