1st Race Civic Vs SRt-4

Hazards I was driving home last weekend after just getting my civic back from the shop and test driving it for a bit. I was on the highway and I was cruising around 60 mph, no rush to get home. I drive pass a neon srt-4 (at the time I didn’t know it was a srt-4). A minute later he passes me at about 75+ mph then slows down and matches my speed. He revs his engine twice, being my first race I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity got get my first kill, so I rev my engine. He starts to take off so I dropped it into 3rd and quickly caught up to him. At 4th my rear was at his front. Once I hit 5th I was pulling away. I was ahead about 1 1/2 maybe 2 car length. I was leading the way, then I shut it down at because we were coming up to some road construction. So the neon passes me and then gets in my lane and flashes his hazard lights declaring a kill.

What do you guys think is it a win for me or does the neon get the victory. Also what is consider fair in racing?

Well id give you the win. My only ? is what have you done to your civic? I believe the srt-4 is a 13.9 second car.

I swapped in a GSR, custom turbo set up, stage 3 clutch, and tein ss coilover.

I just got my car back last weekend. So I havent had the chance to test it out at the track. I am guessing that I am putting down about 280-290. And if the SRT-4 does 13.9 I think i would hit 13.5 to 13.9. What do you think?

Sounds like a nice ride man, I've got a buddy with a '99 hatch...H22, bolt-ons, V-tec controller, MSD, and a 75 shot, and he beat an SRT-4 without spraying...he ran 13.8 before the controller, MSD, and nitrous...that should tell you something.

Unless an h22 is some good performace honda engine (im not real big knowledge on honda) i really doubt that 1320.

the H22 is a 2.2L engine that comes in a prelude...usually V-Tec and somewhere around 200-250HP stock i beleive...the H block is like a step up from the B block...and the B block is the most widely used "performance" block in hondas...
