New to Cycle forums... Just sayin hi

Hey all, been reading these forums for a while now and posted mainly in the automotive section. Recently purchased an 02 998 Duc Superbike (Monoposto). Previous to this bike I owned an 00 Kawasaki Drifter 800 and then an 02 Yamaha R6.. Stopped street riding and concentrated on Dirtbiking for a while, but now I'm back to street. Just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself... I value all input of fellow street riders because we all have had different expieriences that can be shared.. BTW.. Where is everyone from? City, State?
I'm from Torrance, CA

Re: New to Cycle forums... Just sayin hi

The Duc isn't as comfy as the R6 that's for sure.. Hehe. after the first real ride my ass cheeks were hurting like I had run 10 miles but after that initial break in period it's been ok. I seem to only stay in 1st and 2nd gear around town, unlike the R6. This Duc sure is geared differently. However I do like the fact that if I want to wheelie the power is there.. Infact I feel like i'm about to wheelie out of everyturn in 2nd.. Kinda fun.. Sounds mean too.. R6 was way more comfortable that's for sure..

exactly how hot is the seat after the bike is nice and warmy (referring to undertail exhaust)?

Re: New to Cycle forums... Just sayin hi

Ya funny how hot it gets under there. I don't ride with leather bottoms just jeans and leather uppers. But around the whole ass and upper leg area it does get pretty warm. Nothing too uncomfortable though, just noticably warmer than other bikes.. I feel a lot better about this bike then I initially thought i would. Before I would see R6's and R1's all over the place when I rode. Not nearly as many Ducs.. It's like having a trophy wife.. Who cares how they act.. As long as you're seen with her... hehe.. jk. I actually do like the bike..I used to ride wheelies with the R6 all the time, but I think I respect the Duc more so I don't do em as much. Well that and it wasn't a cheap purchase so going down isn't an option yet..
