93' Prelude Vs. 03' Sentra SER Spec V

Ahhh the beauty of friendship rivalry....

Around this area of Ohio, most people who are building Imports have friends who are also doing the same so to have someone elses opinion/ideas on what you are doing to your car. I am no different. The friend that I have is building up a Sentra SER Spec V. Last night, on our way home from Columbus, he felt the need to see who's was faster...

It started about 3 miles from Columbus when we slowed our cars down to 40mph. From there, we took off. He had the beter jump on me, but we we're in 4 lanes @ 3am so it gave us a chance to gain some speed. We continued blazing down I70 about even until we broke 110 which is where I began to pull away. His Nissan lacks a bit on Top-End speed which= Teh Slow. We made it to about 127-130ish and I was about 3 car lengths ahead so we slowed 'er down.

Now he wants to run his car through a compression check just to see why he wouldn't accelerate. But his car had been running a little longer than mine and was producing much heat. "There could have been many factors in this." I told him. "But in the end, Honda wins again!"

Close one, but a good one.

You hit the nail right on the head. We're at a race to see who can beaf up their motor to get to FI first. So far I'm winning but I still have yet to hit the machine shop.

how legit the story is i'm not sure but i know for a fact taht a prelude can do 140mph on the freeway. my friend has done it on his bone stock 97 5 speed with 3 people in the car. and his is a quicker 93 v-tec with mods, and all those mods are high end mods.

And I don't think you know Brian either.

Ahhh, I won't let it get to me, because I think it's funny. Alots happened in almost 2 years, John...but thats right, you already knew that.[/sarcasam]

On Topic:
And for the record, I had never had my car up to that speed before. Maybe I'll get a pic of the Speedo next time.

Its possible to hit upwards of 130 in a lude. The most i've gone in my lude is 120.

Up to 130? Must've been one hell of a long race. Hitting 120 for me wasn't exactly "a quick feat".
