Locking Console

Does anyone know if someone makes a locking console for a 2nd generation blazer. sort of like the ones they have in jeeps. I have a 2003 2door. If there isnt has anyone ever made one, or is it possible to make one, that is without a bike lock.

Re: Locking Console

Anything is possible to make but yes, you can get an aftermarket console at the local auto store, or at the walmart. I can't give you exact names of sites, but I am sure BlazerLt will be looking in and might have a site or something to say! You could also make your own console out of fiberglass.

Re: Locking Console

Speak my name and thee shall see me.

You want something even more effective, put in a hidden kill switch that blocks the coil activation wire from the ignition.

They will never be able to get it started.

Starter Killers rule and you can hide it so only you know where it is.

Of course you only use it when you are leaving it for a long time like at an airport or in storage.

Re: Locking Console

well you can modifiy the present lid, or you could take the original lid and have a custom lid made at a shop, and last you could make your own out of fiber glass

im going to have to tinker with some ideas, i picked up a lid from a junkyard im going to play with. i think i might be able to modifiy a simple lock like that of a dresser. I searched all over for something aftermarket but there wasnt any.

Re: Locking Console

There really isn't anything after market for a locking console, but i wouldnt use a dresser lock if you go to a locksmith shop they can show you a couple different kinds of locks that would be better, or a lock from a file med. cabinet might work.
